Opened Real Player and the film keeps stopping and starting...connection keeps going down and then restarting...have read the threads on newcomer section and have uninstalled Real Player and reinstalled version 10.5. Have windows Vista
Have been into Real Player 'Tools' and done as suggested and set connection and server to 300 as suggested. Also done a test connection...very frustratin...happened the last time I watched the Blind side...used 10 MG to watch that film when it should have been 5MG...but persevered...now having same trouble on a free film....UHHHH!!!

Help please...any further suggestions?

Firstly, feel free to seek reimbursement for being double charged for The Blind Side. Send a PM to etworm (http://www.movieforum.cc/private.php?do=newpm&u=12).

Did you do a clean uninstall when you uninstalled RP? That makes a difference. I also use Vista and rarely have issues. It is possible it's an issue with your ISP.

Also, clear your cache, on your computer & your RP. Since you're having issues, always use free movies as you troubleshoot. I generally let movies load completely so I won't have to wait or reload.

I'm sure others will post if they have other suggestions that hve proved helpful to them.

It sounds like you have done a lot of the tips that is suggested. However, one thing you have not mentioned is what type of connection you have. Some DSL providers are still barely above dial-up speeds.

In real player under Tools/Prefrences where you did the connection test- (Connection) make sure those settings for Bandwidth accurately reflect your current connection.

Also and as I know you have read, but I want to make clear, that you are clicking the icon in the lower right when the first real player opens, and choosing play in real player mode. I have had nothing but issues with the web app that opens by default.

Also if connection is your issue allow the movie to buffer for at least a few minutes before starting to play.

Finally, if your movie stops playing while in REAL PLAYER mode, there is no reason to close Real Player.....I will repeat that..Do not close REAL PLAYER. Simply click stop...then play, and drag forward only to the time that it stopped at. It will continue from that point and buffer...this will not charge you more points, and you can do it as often as you need to.

If this does not help send a PM to WaterlillyBarb and we will try to find another solution for you.

Hi Dianne, it sounds to me like it's a settings issue. How are you viewing it? Are you watching it in Realplayer mode?

I was attempting to watch Nights in Rodanthe and there is a problem with the movie. It has stopped at least 10 times. What can you do to improve the viewing of this film.

I have checked the movie & it seems to be working fine. Please make sure you are watching movies in your own Real Player and that the settings are correct. Also, let the movie load at least halfway before starting to watch.

See this thread (http://www.movieforum.cc/showthread.php?t=6), and particularly post #2.

Also, if you ARE watching in your own RP already, please see our Real Player Troubleshooting - UPDATED w/ MAC (http://www.movieforum.cc/showthread.php?t=233).

Please see our Real Player Troubleshooting for MAC (http://www.movieforum.cc/showpost.php?p=2428&postcount=4) thread. This should be of help to you in being able to view with your Mac. :)

Please don't hesitate to ask for more assistance if you need it. I am not a Mac user, but other members are, and I'm sure they would be happy to assist as well.

I haven't noticed any, nor have a noticed a lot of others saying they are having similar problems. By chance did your computers do an automatic update of any kind? That sometimes messes with viewing, as it may change some of your settings . If you look above, you will see links to some helpful threads. I just opened a free movie to see if there was a problem & it's loading fine.

If all else fails, send a PM to etworm (the link is in one of the above posts as well). I hope you are able to get back to enjoying somemovies soon. :)
